- Charge Devices – Ensure all devices are fully charged.
- Travel Adapter – Fiber Only use a travel adapter with surge protection. One common issue is power fluctuations, which can damage electronic devices.
- Portable Charger – Always carry a portable charger. Don’t use public chargers, public charging stations or cords, as hackers can install software to access your devices.
- Backup Data – Backup all your data to a cloud before traveling. If your devices are stolen, you can do a remote backup to a new device.
- Strong Passwords – Enable strong passwords, including two-factor authentication. If you’re traveling to an area where text messages may be difficult, consider having two-factor authentication email your passcodes.
- Turn Off Battery–Draining Features – Unnecessary features, such as Bluetooth or location services, can rapidly drain your battery.
- Public Wi-Fi – While convenient, avoid public Wi-Fi unless you have a VPN. Public Wi-Fi is notoriously easy for hackers to gain control over your devices.
