Watch Free Movies This Summer in Charleston
Enjoy the beautiful evenings in Charleston this August, and take in free movies this summer with the family! Whether you’re looking to make it an evening out or want to show up and relax outdoors while watching a movie, Charleston has something for you.
Waterfront Music & Movies
If you’re around the Mount Pleasant area, bring your comfortable outdoor chairs and blankets and listen to local musicians at sunset, then transition to an outdoor movie that sets against the stunning Charleston Harbor and Ravenel Bridge. Movies begin showing around 8:15 PM to 8:30 PM every Friday, and parking and admission are free. Food sales and music start at 6:00 PM.
First Friday Town Market on James Island
The first Friday of each month, the Town Market on James Island features over 60 local vendors, produce, desserts, food trucks, live music, a petting zoo, horse rides and even a jump castle for kids. The big screen lights up at dusk, and you can watch a free movie outdoors – rain or shine!
Citadel Mall
Visit Citadel Mall on August 7 and August 14 at 6:00 PM and enjoy a family-friendly movie in the center court. On August 7, they are screening “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” and on August 14, “Strange World.”
Cinemark Summer Movie Clubhouse
While this option is not free, the Cinemark Summer Movie Clubhouse offers deep discounts and lets kids watch movies for $1.50 (plus taxes and fees) per ticket. Hurry and act quickly, as this deal only lasts until August 9!
