Bob Helmly, CEO of Home Telephone Company Recognized with Lifetime Achievement Award
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Moncks Corner, S.C. – August 1, 2011 - “ModernTechnology, Rural Ingenuity,” was the theme at this year’s 48th Annual OPASTCO
Convention held in Minneapolis. The conference represents approximately 460 rural
telecommunications carriers, including Home Telephone Company.
The company recently changed its name to HOME Telecom (www.HOMESC.com) after
adding additional services to their product offerings and making a significant investment
in new technology. Helmly, a South Carolina native, is Vice-Chair and CEO at the 100-
year old company whose motto is, “Live Life Ahead.” He received the organization’s
most prestigious honor, the Lifetime Achievement Award.
This award honors individuals who have worked to further the independent
telecommunications industry throughout their careers, specifically at the local or
state level. It recognizes effective leadership and advocacy, along with outstanding
accomplishments and contributions to the local community and state industry
associations.
