Holiday light celebrations may look a little different from year’s past. But that’s no reason to feel down this year. We’ve put together a list of the top holiday light celebrations in Charleston and the surrounding areas so you can start humming carols and feeling the holiday spirit.
The two main attractions this year include the following:
Old Santee Canal Park
Home Telecom will be working the gate on December 4, 2020, so stop by to partake in this magical experience. The 10-year annual holiday lights driving tour helps to benefit charities in Berkeley County. Over the last nine years, this event has donated nearly $1 million to local charities.
This year, the Holiday Lights Driving Tour is from November 27 through December 30 but is closed on December 24 and 25 to observe the Christmas holidays. For a flat-rate $5 fee, from 6 to 9 PM, drivers can experience the tour at One Riverwood Drive, Moncks Corner. You can also purchase tickets in advance.
Charleston’s Holiday Festival of Lights
Let your heart be merry and light at the Holiday Festival of Lights in the Lowcountry. This year, you can participate in a driving tour and experience the magic of millions of bright lights, complete with magical surprises. Open nightly from 5:30 to 10 PM November 13 through December 31, bring the family and get in the holiday spirit. Please note that due to COVID-19 restrictions, visitors cannot leave their vehicles except to use the restroom. Concessions will be available to purchase from the comfort of your vehicles. As a bonus, kids can come in their pajamas and stay comfortable and warm. Purchase your tickets in advance here.
